Peppol: e-invoices through the Peppol network
Exchange e-invoices securely and automatically between businesses and authorities, connected to your ERP.
Peppol is a European network for exchanging electronic invoices. Businesses and authorities are connected through certified access points, and invoices land directly in the recipient’s system. In Belgium, Peppol has been the designated channel for B2B e-invoices since 2026, and many public authorities across Europe use it as well.
BARNICOM already sends its own invoices via Peppol and connects your ERP or software to the network. More on the mandate: E-invoicing.
What defines Peppol
One network for Europe
Peppol connects businesses and authorities through certified access points. Once connected, you reach all other participants.
Delivery with proof
Invoices go directly to the recipient’s system, without a mailbox and without spam filters.
Mandatory in neighboring countries
In Belgium, Peppol has been the designated channel for B2B e-invoices since January 1, 2026 (KPMG).
Email or Peppol
Both channels are allowed for e-invoices in Germany. The differences lie in the process.

Which format runs over Peppol?
Structured e-invoices according to EN 16931, usually in Peppol BIS Billing format or as XRechnung.
