The Challenge
Schools, universities, companies, associations and clubs often organize courses and learning materials through a mix of file shares, emails and chat groups. Who is allowed to see which material is rarely defined cleanly. Public institutions also face requirements for data residency, data processing agreements and accessibility that many tools do not meet.
We developed our own learning platform that covers exactly these points: structured content, traceable permissions and operation in Germany.
Our Solution
The platform is operated as software as a service. Each organization works in its own tenant, and data stays strictly within the organization.
Courses and Learning Materials
Materials are stored in structured folders per course, with versions and a recycle bin. Calendars and sessions link dates to the related material and can be added to any calendar via an iCal subscription.
Permissions, Roles and Groups
Permissions are assigned through roles, classes and groups and can be granted per course, folder or individual document. Every permission is traceable down to the individual person, from the organization administrator to a single share.
Assignments, Tests and Gradebook
- Assignments with deadlines, digital collection of submissions and grading with points and feedback
- Online tests with time limits and a question pool, graded automatically where possible
- Gradebook with all grades of a course in one overview, exportable as CSV
Login and Security
Users sign in locally with two-factor authentication or via single sign-on with Microsoft Entra ID. Users join the platform by invitation, not through open registration. Encrypted transmission, role-based permissions and an audit log for security-relevant actions are part of the basic setup.
Storage and Operations
Files are stored either with us in Germany, in the organization's SharePoint or on its own S3 storage. Operations run in German data centers, without transfers to third countries. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is included. The interface is developed according to BITV 2.0 and WCAG and is available in seven languages.
